BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The role of the Business Development Manager is to ensure that the Region achieves its business development objectives and fulfils the national client strategy.
KEY OBJECTIVES: ·
To achieve agreed level of partnered, negotiated and tendered opportunities. To build new and strengthen existing relationships with customers and their professional teams. Monitor the pipelines of enquiries and take appropriate action. Check levels of customer satisfaction on a business to business level. Monitor number of new clients. Monitor the market place/trends. Track Regional activities against Company strategy
Maintain a robust client database·Log and maintain key local activities on the clients national website· Provide Regional information for Company publications as required· Maintain and update national pre-qualification documents as necessary
Appraise and set objectives with staff and review· Create effective cross-functional links within the Region· First interview to Business Development Co-ordinator post· Deal with Business Development Co-ordinator disciplinary issues· Coach Business Development Co-ordinator for future development, including identification of training and development needs.· Maintain up to date knowledge of Government initiatives on procurement and value-for-money.· Keeping abreast of market needs and conditions· Seek to adopt an innovative and creative approach as often as possible
Client · Understand the background to each client and its relationship with this client · Understand the client’s needs and provide appropriate reporting information· Network as appropriate and in the best interests of public relations for this client. Develop relationship strategies within appropriate sectors and identify best clients· Drive appropriate key client accounts across the business.· Seek to promote new key client accounts
Suppliers· Present Professional teams with relevant opportunities· Maintain good working relationships with Professional teams and tackle difficult issues in a timely manner· Seek to build relationships with best-in-class suppliers· Seek to build relationships with innovative suppliers and promote within this client Involvement in strategy and planning· Take increasing responsibility for public relations including attending this clients PR co-ordination meetings·Attend informal board meetings as requested· Chair monthly Lead BDM meetings as requested.·Take an increasing responsibility for the marketing of this client
