New Elizabethan School is located in the beautiful village of Hartlebury. Set in large grounds and historic buildings, the school is an enjoyable place to learn. The School's aim is to provide education to children who have learning differences/issues or to those who cannot cope with the average large class sizes found in state school education.
With our small staff to pupil ratios of between 1-5 and 1-2, we are able to truly get to know each child as an individual. We educate through thematic and experential learning as an extension of the national curriculum on which we base our timetable and with support of drama, are, play and occupational therapies.
We believe that children should be happy in their learning environment and allowed to learn through experimental, practical and play methods. With our extensive sports facilities all children are encouraged to take part in games and exercise at least once a day, and this also complements our therapy programme. As well as standard teaching approaches, art drama and dance are subjects in there own right but are also used as tools too.
Each child receives regular assessments of both their strengths and weaknesses upon which their Individualised Education Programme is based to enable us to meet their specific needs and build upon their strengths. Parents are encouraged to work closely with the school and staff, as we believe their knowledge of their own child is essential. In fact we welcome not just the child but the whole family into the school, so that we can work together to achieve the very best for all
