Our client makes over 38,000 deliveries to over 35,000 outlets every week and is UK's largest wholesale distributor of Confectionery, Alcohol, Snacks, Groceries and Chilled and Frozen Food. An opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Management team at their Coventry Branch.
THE JOB
You will be responsible for managing a team of around 200 people in this 24/7 operation. Through your shift managers, you will to ensure that the Production and Loading functions at the branch run smoothly and ontime, that the performance KPis are achieved and the motivation, recruitment, training and development of the staff is maintained.
ABOUT YOU
You will have a strong background in a Distribution / Logistics environment and will have previous managerial experience and have experience of managing in a multi-temperature environment will be preferable. You will have excellent leadership, problem solving, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will have the ability to identify and adapt to the changing needs of the production environment, and have the knowledge and experience to take immediate action.
You will have good IT skills and an understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as monitoring of statistics and professional reporting is essential to the role. You will have the ability to manage productivity in order to achieve targets and deadlines, within the agreed budgets and KPI's in a cost driven environment.
A flexible approach to working hours will be required as you will be responsible for both PM and Night shifts.
